About Us

A S N Women’s Engineering College was established by Kamala Educational Society in the year 2008-09 with an objective of imparting quality technical education to the women aspirants of Tenali town and its surrounding rural areas. Initially the college was named K.S.S.Women’s Engineering College. Later in the year 2011-12 its name was changed to A.S.N Women’s Engineering College. With the vast and rich experience gained in running several educational institutions in Tenali, for more than 20 years, the Management entered the field of Technical Education. It has established A.S.N Women’s Engineering College in Tenali in the year 2008-09 with the approval of AICTE, New Delhi and Govt of A.P initially with five branches in engineering course,vig., B.Tech in CIVIL, CSE, ECE, EEE and IT with an intake of 60 students in each branch with affiliation to JNTU, Kakinada.

During the next academic year MBA course was started with an intake of 60. Subsequently approval was accorded by AICTE, New Delhi to increase the intake in ECE & CSE branches to 120 each from the academic year 2010-11 onwards. The college has adequate number of well qualified teaching faculty mostly with M.Tech qualification under the leadership of highly experienced Prof G.Nageswara Rao, Ph.D (I.I.T Bombay) ably assisted by Prof K.Ramchand, Ph.D (Acharya Nagarjuna University) as Vice Principal. The college having an extent of 5.20 acres is surrounded by lush green paddy fields . The college is situated very close to the town at a distance of 2 km from the center of the town with very good transport facilities. All the laboratories of various departments are fully equipped with state of the art equipment acquired at a total cost of Rs. 1.15 crores. The Department- wise break up is CIVIL Engg Rs. 30.00 lakhs, ECE : Rs. 15.00 lakhs, EEE : Rs. 20.00 lakhs CSE & IT : Rs.40.00 lakhs, other Departments : Rs.10 lakhs. The Computer Centre of the college has a total of 200 systems to cater to the needs of Computer Science & IT students as well as students of other branches. Most of the systems have the latest configuration .The air conditioned college library procured all the required latest Text Books and Reference Books as per the curriculum of JNTU, Kakinada and also popular Text Books written by reputed authors. The total number of volumes is: 11,393 and the number of titles is 3,554 acquired at a total cost of Rs.8.3 lakhs. The library subscribes to nearly 40 journals and Magazines out of which 12 are foreign journals. The foreign print journals include IEEE, ASME etc. The college has acquired NPTEL video Lectures of nearly 220 technical subjects of different branches of engineering delivered by senior professors of I.I.Ts and NITS. There are four e-class rooms fitted with LCD ( NEC Japan make) projectors. These NPTEL lessons can be either played in these e-class rooms or can be viewed in the digital Library by the students as per their convenience.

The college also has a Training and Placement Cell headed by the Vice Principal. Weekly two periods are allocated for improving the soft skills of the students. The college has collaboration with Globerena and I M S to develop the students to their full potential.




The performance of the students in the University examinations is highly commendable. The out going batch of students (2008-12 batch) came out with flying colours with a pass percentage of 89.14 in the 2nd semester of their final year B.Tech. Overall, 86.45% students took their B.Tech Degrees in the stipulated four years which is a commendable achievement taking into consideration their relatively poor academic background at the time of their admission four years back. The college has a Campus Hostel run by the Management where discipline is given the top most priority apart from hygienic food and comfortable accommodation. The girls hostel has facilities for games and sports which are open for day –scholars also. The College has at present two own buses for the convenience of the students from neighbouring villages as well as the students staying in the town. One more bus is planned to be added from this academic year. The college also has a stand by Electric Generator Set.
